STEWARDSHIP AND SUSTAINABILITY: LINCOLN'S 1957 ALCOA ALUMINUM HOUSE

2021 MODERNISM AWARD

FoMA was pleased to honor the owners of Lincoln’s 1957 Alcoa Care-Free Aluminum House, Dawn Palmer and Richard Gammack, for their stewardship of this unique house, one of only two dozen built in the United States. Through their sensitive renovation, the owners have restored the luster of the house, preserved its compact, efficient footprint, and used passive ventilation strategies to create a comfortable home for decades to come.
