MUSIC IN MODERN HOUSES #1
Music in Modern Houses, a free virtual concert held from 7 – 8:30 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 was the first in a series featuring local Lincoln resident and acclaimed folk artist Antje Duvekot.
A brief introductory slideshow by FoMA board member and architect Dogan “Woodie” Arthur highlighted Constantin Pertzoff, architect and land conservation advocate in Lincoln, who designed the 1959 Brunn House where the concert was held. A significant addition to the house was designed by Michael Rosenfeld in 1977 that received a Record House designation.

Born in Germany and transplanted to the US as a young teen, Antje Duvekot began to hone her observational skills through a lens of biculturalism when she picked up a guitar during that move. In college, the confessional folk of Dar Williams and Ani DiFranco gave her license to share her observations, no matter how personal, in her first emerging songs. She has never let go of that tenet of vulnerability in her 2-decade long career as a touring musician. Antje Duvekot has solidified her reputation as one of Boston’s top singer-songwriters. And she lives in Lincoln!
