Breaking Ground: Henry B. Hoover, New England Modern Architect
John Peabody Monks House, G. Holmes Perkins, 1940 Lincoln, Massachusetts
The sun beamed through fall foliage on Sunday afternoon, as over seventy FoMA members enjoyed the chance to see the amazing house, purchase the new book, learn about what FoMA had been up to over the year and enjoy seasonal refreshments. FoMA Board Members and authors, Lucretia Hoover Giese and Harry Hoover Jr. were on hand for the book signing. They spent ten years researching the work of their father, Henry B. Hoover (1902-1989), a prodigious regional architect and accomplished draftsman. The authors received the an award from FoMA/Lincoln to recognize excellence in preservation, planning and design in the name of Lincoln's Modern Heritage, which was given for the first time.
