*POP UP* tour of two 1962 Deck Houses in Concord. Starting at a home designed, built and owned by Bill Berkes, the original architect and co-founder of the Deck House Company, we will learn from the current architect-homeowners about the updated heat-ing system and the other future energy efficient improvements. The second Deck House was marketed as a teardown in 2015. Learn from the owners, architects and contractors who took a second look at water damage, mold, rot and ants, broken windows, ancient plumbing and electrical systems and saw the beauty of Mid-Century Modern design. There will be a presenta-tion on the value of these houses, how to maintain them and their building envelope issues, and increase their value without exhausting all resources. Included is a sneak preview of the trailer of an upcoming documentary on Deck Houses. Chat with the experts and our special guest Robert Brownell, co-founder of 1959 Deck House Company.
