POLISHING AN ARCHITECTURAL GEM | 6.2022

The 1948 Schwann House was designed by noted architect Walter Bogner, a resident of Lincoln and a professor of architecture at Harvard. Bogner designed the house for the young William Schwann, an organist and musicologist. Schwann became widely known for publishing the Schwann Music catalogue. New York Times music writer Anthony Tomassini described Schwann’s name as being “synonymous with record collecting as the name of Baedeker is to travel and Bartlett is to quotations.”
