THE HOUSES OF MODERN MASTERS GROPIUS & BOGNER
The Friends of Modern Architecture/Lincoln (FoMA) and Historic New England offered a unique comparative walking tour of houses designed by Walter Gropius and his esteemed Harvard colleague and Woods End neighbor, Walter Bogner. The hour and a half tour began at the Gropius House and continued with a short walking tour of the adjacent Woods End Road neighborhood, distinguished by an exceptional cluster of modern houses that also included the home designed by celebrated modern architect and designer, Marcel Breuer, and the house of Harvard ethicist and housing specialist, James Ford, and writer Elizabeth Morrow Ford, designed by Gropius and Breuer.
